The Konditorei in Bruntsfield is chiefly a retail shop with a small number of tables for guests to relax and enjoy Falko's cakes and coffees. Native German speakers are usually present for those who wish to practice their German, or mother-tongue German speakers who prefer asking for a Roggenmischbrot rather than a medium rye.
Yakety Yak Language Café hold conversational German classes here every Wednesday between 9 and 10 a.m. They have groups of different abilities but are not suitable for complete beginners.
Being very popular, free tables are often in short supply. The Konditorei doesn't take table-bookings, but has a waiting area for you to peruse the menus until a table becomes available.
